Whether you’re a curious beginner or looking to refine your skills, our classes offer a supportive, hands-on environment where you’ll learn the entire process of creating functional pottery—from a lump of clay to a finished, glazed piece.

What Makes Our Classes Unique

Held in a working pottery studio in Austin, our classes give you a real-world glimpse into the life of a potter. With small class sizes and experienced instructors, you’ll receive personalized guidance while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow clay enthusiasts.

What You’ll Learn

Over six weeks, you’ll build a solid foundation in both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques, including:

• Centering and throwing on the wheel

• Hand-building with slabs, coils, and molds

• Trimming and finishing your pieces

• Glazing techniques to add color and texture

All materials, tools, firings, and instruction are included—just bring yourself (and clothes you don’t mind getting muddy)!

Final 2025 Session Options:

• Mondays: November 10 – December 15

• Tuesdays: November 11 – December 16

• 💰 Tuition: $395 per person

A Note on Studio Workflow

With 10 spots per class and 7 wheels, students alternate between wheel-throwing and hand-building activities. This ensures everyone gets quality time at the wheel while also gaining well-rounded ceramic skills.
